PoCo Inspired: Tell us a bit about yourself
Rising Sol Creations: I am currently 30 years young, love to travel but since COVID I have become a real "homebody". I fully invested myself with Rising Sol at the start of COVID and I am still looking to continue my growth in overall jewelry making. I graduated from The College of St Scholastica, majoring in marketing and minoring in management and art (focusing on painting). I always had an interest in art including art history and color theory. Like many of us, life has been bumpy lately and somehow found myself wrapping crystals, stringing beads, collecting chips and creating statement earrings. I love playing with creativity.

PoCo Inspired: When did you first start making jewellery and what was the first piece you ever made?
Rising Sol Creations: My first jewelry piece was a wire wrapped Himalayan diamond quartz. When I first saw these Himalayan quartz, it sparkled my soul and knew it had to be adored and worn by others. It was November 2020 shortly after the passing of my grandfather.

PoCo Inspired: What inspires your creativity when making a new piece of jewellery?
Rising Sol Creations: The crystals, the beads - they will just "speak" to me. If I do not feel inspired or I am in a low vibration then I do not create anything. Creativity is kinda like a gust of wind, it will come and blow you away but you need to catch it and work at it. If not, just let it fly past you and it may go to the next person - referenced from Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

PoCo Inspired: What is the single most important skill you have learned and why?
Rising Sol Creations: Patience and trust. There will be times where my vision or idea isn't going a certain way. If I create something and don't believe it is meant to look in that final stage- I will leave it aside- return to it (in days/ weeks/ months) and almost each time, I rework on it- it transforms into something more beautiful.

PoCo Inspired: What challenges do you face in your work?
Rising Sol Creations: There are many challenges I face like having to let go of worry about pieces not holding up or tarnishing (meaning having to find quality products while keeping prices reasonable). Presence on social media is very important for me- figuring algorithms, creating reels/tik toks can be very time consuming especially when engagement is low. Also staying up to date with admin work and organization. Because I am working with crystals, and the energies that it holds- sometimes it can just be too much for me. I am still learning to live with depression, anxiety and adhd so balancing between individual tasks within RSC and my personal life is a big challenge.

PoCo Inspired: What is your biggest achievement so far in your business?
Rising Sol Creations: I have always hoped to go somewhere and see my pieces being worn. Back in October (2022) I was in a restaurant when I saw a server wearing one of my first pieces of jewelry. It was beautiful, I even asked if I could take a closer look (just to inspect that it was holding in well). I didn't mention that I made it because it wasn't about me, it was the fact that the piece was out and holding the wearer's intentions. I want my jewelry to be out and worn, even if it is not everyday.

PoCo Inspired: Where can we find you to shop online or in-person?
Rising Sol Creations: Currently in person, I have pieces at Onyx Blanc Aesthetics and Moonstone Holistics. You can shop online via instagram (through direct messaging) and on my website (which will launch very very soon)
