PoCo Inspired: When did you first start making jewellery and what was the first piece you ever made?
KATEMADETHAT: I definitely had a bunch of plastic beads as a wee one, but my recent foray into beading started in summer 2022 when I hurt my back and couldn't move around too well.
The first pair of brick stitch earrings I made were a pair with greens and blues that were inspired by my trip to Quetico last summer.

PoCo Inspired: What inspires your creativity when making a new piece?
KATEMADETHAT: I find vintage fabric very inspiring – the colour palettes and textures really speak to me. I also love to make things that are inspired by a friend's favourite colour, a shirt I saw someone wearing on the bus, or a bird i see through my binoculars.

PoCo Inspired: What is the single most important skill you have learned and why?
